Why Practice Analogy?
- Analogy is part of the General Intelligence & Reasoning syllabus of CBT 1
- Trains you to find the rule before you read the options
- Number and letter analogies also build speed for series and coding questions
- Each set is 15 questions in 12 minutes with 1/3 negative marking, like the real paper
Concepts You Will Master
- Word relations: worker and tool, part and whole, young one, habitat, unit and quantity
- Number rules: squares, cubes, n(n + 1), n³ ± n, n³ ± n² and more
- Letter shifts, opposite letters (A↔Z) and reversed letter-clusters
- Letter place values (A = 1 … Z = 26) for letter-number pairs
- Number triplets that follow one common rule
Preparation Tip
Say the relation of the first pair as a short sentence (for example, "B is the young one of A") before you look at the options. For numbers, try squares and cubes first, then n(n + 1), n² ± 1 and × k. If no rule fits in about 40 seconds, move on and come back later, because a wrong answer costs 1/3 mark.

About Analogy
Analogy questions test whether you can see the relationship between one pair and apply it to another. In RRB NTPC CBT 1 they come as word analogies, word pairs, number pairs, letter-clusters and number triplets. These six sets start with simple relations and move to harder number rules and letter patterns. Every question has an explanation in English, Hindi and Hinglish, and every wrong option says why it does not fit.
FAQs
There are 6 sets: 2 easy, 2 medium and 2 hard. Each set has 15 questions and a 12-minute timer.
Each correct answer gives 1 mark and each wrong answer deducts 1/3 mark, the same as RRB NTPC CBT 1.
Yes. Every question can be attempted in English or Hindi, and solutions are given in English, Hindi and Hinglish.
Check squares and cubes first, then n(n + 1), n² ± 1 and multiplication by a fixed number. When two example pairs are given, the rule must work for both.
